Is “paramo” the English word for this type of environment? I’ve checked
several websites and have found words like high grassland, moorland, bleak
upland, etc, but I’m not sure which is the most accurate. Since I grew up
in New Jersey, I’d never heard this word until I came to Colombia. If
someone can confirm this for me, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks.

Very good visuals Julia. Was very interesting to learn about paramo’s.
Guess global warming plays an integral role in the change of the new
    “inhabitants”
