We live in a world of unseeable beauty,
so subtle and delicate that it is imperceptible to the human eye.

To bring this invisible world to light, filmmaker Louie Schwartzberg bends
the boundaries of time and space with high-speed cameras, time lapses and
microscopes. At TED2014, he shares highlights from his latest project, a 3D
film titled “Mysteries of the Unseen World,” which slows down, speeds up,
and magnifies the astonishing wonders of nature.
    Lovely video

Yes, and at the other extreme we have ISIS, the unbelievably destructive
power of modern industrial agriculture and consumerism, sociopath CEO’s
    running amok with 99% of the world’s wealth . . .

We’re as insane, destructive and evil as we are intelligent and empathic.

    Why?

Because the human brain is compartmentalised. We tend to forget that while
we have access to information, that does not make us informed; that having
access to intelligence does not make us intelligent.

We’re only on the threshold of becoming an intelligent, evolved species. In
every other way we’re still the same stupid, murderous, destructive apes we
    always were.

This really shows how incredible the world we live in really is, and how
complex life is, just like a fractal in scale.
